February 2009 - CleWin 4.2 and Matlab toolbox
Version 4.2 of CleWin and a free Matlab toolbox are now downloadable from the support page.
February 2008 - CleWin 4.1 released
Version 4.1 of CleWin has been released and is now downloadable from the support page.
January 2007 - CleWin 4.0 released!
We are proud to announce the release of the new version of CleWin. Since we started with the
development of CleWin, almost 15 years ago, the product has evolved from a simple editor to
a powerful mask design tool. The product has been very successful over the years and is used
worldwide both by companies and universities.
Starting with version 4, CleWin has powerful scripting capabilities. You can now generate objects
by writing scripts in the programming language C, in MatLab, or in the scripting language from
MaskEngineer. The latter is a scripting language developed by PhoeniX BV especially for mask design.
For more information, please read the layout software page.
WieWeb software's main product is the layout editor CleWin. CleWin is a layout editor we designed in cooperation with the MESA+ Research Institute at the University of Twente and Deltamask, a mask making company.
CleWin runs on a PC with Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7. It is compatible with other layout packages because it uses the standard CIF and GDS-II file formats. Furthermore, CleWin can read and write the AutoCAD DXF, Gerber RS-274X and Electromask and Mann file formats. High resolution PostScript is available as output format.
Because CleWin is also meant to be used by students a lot of attention is given to the user interface. CleWin is a hierarchical layout editor, i.e. a layout consists of symbols (also called cells) which may be nested. Editing a symbol in one place will change all other instances of the same symbol. CleWin shows a hierarchical list of all symbols in a design, so that each symbol definition is directly accessible for editing. Furthermore, the hierarchical list provides a clear overview of the file structure and the dependencies between the defined symbols.
The most important features of CleWin include:
CleWin version 4 is available in two editions: the standard edition for Euro 1950, and the pro edition for Euro 2250 (small site license). For a complete price list, please download the pdf flyer or contact us by e-mail. For universities and (non commercial) research institutes, updates are free until the version number changes into 5.0. The updates can be downloaded from our Support page. For companies, an update and support contract is offered by PhoeniX BV.

Besides the CleWin layout software, WieWeb software specializes in the development of technical, scientific and mathematical software.
Most of these products are custom made. Some of our larger projects include a parameter estimation program for semiconductor models and an automatic circuit-topology generator for so-called translinear electronic circuits.
If you are interested in a custom made product please do not hesitate to contact us.
The easiest way to get technical support for any of our products is
by sending an e-mail to our support department:

a high priority - usually an update is available within one week.
Matlab toolbox (Updated: February 19, 2009)
This toolbox was created my Marcel Dijkstra (University of Twente, http://tst.ewi.utwente.nl). If you are using Matlab scripts in CleWin you will certainly appreciate it.
DEPLOF font (Updated: December 1, 2008)
The DEPLOF font was designed by David Elata (MEMS Lab, Technion, http://mems.technion.ac.il)
and kindly provided for other users of CleWin. The font will significantly reduce file sizes and is designed to prevent small
features (e.g. the two islands inside an etched '8') to fly off during sacrificial release.
Registered users of CleWin are entitled to free updates. Just select the appropriate link below.
